Our Rotary Club

Jodie Anderson - Jodie is the director of Human Resources for Hancock County Health System. Native of Garner. Graduated from the University of Northern IA with a degree in Organizational Training and Development. I live in Clear Lake with husband Jon and have two children, Kyle and Kaylee.  Jodie became a Rotarian in 2018.
Val Anderson - Val is not retired just recycled.  A former office manager, accountant, & household engr., she has had a life time connection with Rotary through parents, husband, and Rotary Youth Exchange.  Val became a Rotary member in 1989 and currently involved in Volunteer Service, Currently involved in Volunteer Service, not retired just recycled.
Christine Atwell - Christine is the NIACC Community Education Program Manager in Garner. She graduated from Touro University with a Masters in Higher Education and has worked in the education field since 1999. Christine lives in Garner with her husband Lance and has two daughters. She joined Rotary in 2018.
Dave Backus - Dave is Chief Financial Officer at Stellar Industries in Garner.  He graduated from Loyola University with a degree in managerial accounting.  He has worked in several manufacturing companies in the Midwest.  He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Hancock County Economic Development Corporation. Dave and his wife reside in Ventura, Iowa and both enjoy entertaining, cooking and gardening. He joined the club in 2005.
Mike Bahnsen - Mike is a VP of Ag/Commercial Banking for Clear Lake Bank & Trust in Garner.  Mike joined The Garner Rotary Club in 2012 and is currently the acting treasurer and the  chair of the social committee.  Mike was a former Vice President and President of the Parkersburg Rotary Club in 2007 and 2008.
David Boehnke - David is a farmer and Pioneer seed dealer.  He joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2012.

Holly Brink - Holly is the Administrator at Concord Care Center, part of ABCM Corporation and has been in this role since 2010. She oversees all daily operations at the care center, assisted living, therapy center and home care.  Spending time with her husband, Brandon and two young daughters is very important to her. 

Brian Cataldo - Brian graduated from Garner in 1987 and the University of Minnesota in 1991.  He is self-employed as a funeral director at Cataldo and Petersen Lund Funeral Homes with locations in Garner, Britt, Woden and Forest City.  Brian has been a member of Rotary since 1994 serving as president in 1997 and chairperson for the International Committee for many years. In his spare time he enjoys working out and playing basketball with his three sons.

Dean Cataldo - Dean is retired from Cataldo Funeral Home.  
Willis Davision - Willis has been involved with agriculture raising corn, soybeans and hogs for over 50 years.  Presently semi-retired from farming a son and grandson continue the family farm operation.  Willis joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2010.

Ivan Dodd - Ivan is a retired sales executive. A US Navy Vietnam Veteran and longtime Garner resident, Ivan served as Mayor of the City of Garner for 26 years. Joining Rotary in 2000, he is a Paul Harris Fellow, has been past President in 2009 and is currently serving as the President for 2014. He also is Chairman of the City of Garner Board of Adjustment and President of the Board of Directors for Prairie View Apartments, a senior citizen retirement community. 

Neil Fell - Neil is Market President of Reliance State Bank in Garner & Klemme. He has been a member of Rotary since 2000, and has served at Club President and Asst. District Governor. He is currently chairperson of the Foundation committee
Dr. Marc Fritz - Marc is a chiropractor at Garner Chiropractic Center, PC.  He received his doctorate of chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2007.  He is an avid bow hunter and enjoys spending time outside.  He is a native of Paullina, Iowa.  Dr. Fritz currently resides in Garner with his wife, Amanda, and their two young children.  He joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2007.  

Dr. Don Furman - Don graduated from Cornell College and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in 1992 and joined the Family Eye Care Center in 1995. He lives in Garner with his wife Melinda and has two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, sports, and community service. He currently serves on the board of  the Garner Library and the Economic Development Group.  He joined the Garner Rotary Club in 1998.

Philip Garland - Phillip graduated from Creighton Universtiy with a law degree and moved to Garner in 1980 and began is law practice.  He and his wife Jody and grown children Pat, Mike, Brian and Bridget.  Philip has been a member of the Garner club since 2013.
Matt Graham - Matt holds a Business Teaching degree from UNI and has been in education for 18 years with 11 of them being in the GHV School District.  Both Garner natives, Matt and his wife Mary eside in Garner with their two children Maddie and Mason.  Matt has been a member of the Garner club since 2015.

Don Greiman - Don is a retired farmer who was involved in the production of crops and Purebred Angus cattle.  He is a graduate of Iowa State University with honors in 1952 with a degree in Animal Science, and an Officer's commission in the Air Force ROTC.  After graduation from ISU, Don served my two year's commitment in the United States Air Force, and returned home to Garner to farm and raise Purebred Angus in partnership with my father and brother.  Don joined the Garner Rotary in 2012.

Jeanettee Greiman - Jeanettee was born in Portland, Iowa.  Over the years she has worked at Mercy and St. Luke Hostpial, Farmber Hybred, National Pork Producers Council and 3M.  With her spouse David they own Greiman Construction which has 42 years of building family homes in Garner.  Today Jeanettee is a part owner of Greiman Construction Services LC with son Matt.  She is the Past President of the Garner Auxillary, Brownie leader and present Treasurer of the Garner Women Golf Association.  She especially loves spending time with her nine grandchildren.  Jeanettee joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2017.
Jim Hasty - Jim is Vice President nd General Manager of Iowa Mold and Tooling, located in Garner.  Prior to joining IMT, her worked in various marketing, business development and sale leadership roles.  Jim and his wife Dee have two grown children.  Jim received his BA from the University of Illinois nd his MBA from University of Phoenix.  Jim joined the club in 2015.

Jody Horstman - Jody is a nurse practicitioner for Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond.  Jody grew up in Garner and attended the University of Cincinnati.  She and her busband Bill have two children.  Jody became a member of the Garner Rotary Club in 2018.
Ted Hovda - Ted is a lawyer who has practiced in Garner since June, 1977.  He and his wife Susan have three adult children and four grandchildren.  Ted has served as Treasurer and President of the Garner Rotary club.  He has been a Paul Harris Fellow for more than 20 years.  Ted joined Rotary in August, 1977 and has been a member continuously since then.

KJ Hueneman - KJ is a 1977 graduate of Iowa State University with a BS in Animal Science.   He is married to Karen and they have 5 children.  KJ is the owner of the Hueneman Companies involving trucking, logistics, tire sales and service, and farming.  He serves currently on the Board of Directors of Rotary, Prairie View Apartments, and the Iowa Motor Truck Association.  KJ joined Rotary in 2009.

Mark Huling - Mark has been an agent with Farm Bureau Financial Services since 1983 and currently works in Garner.  He and his wife Missy have two children.  Mark joined Rotary in 1989 and is a past president.
Amber Jenniges - Amber graduated from Garner Hayfield in 2002 and obtained an Associate in Science degree from NIACC.  Previously she worked for Farmer's State Bank in Ventura and is presently employed as the Executive Director for the Garner Chamber of Commerce.  She and her husband Ben have 4 children.  Amber joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2016.

Ron Kindwall - Ron Kindwall has been a member of four Rotary Clubs spanning 35 years including 18 years with the Garner Club.  He and his wife, Janet, are imprinted promotion specialists with Business Services Plus.  Prior to retiring in 2003, Ron spent more than 40 years in financial & business management.  In addition to providing service to his church & other community activities, Ron is the SHIIP (Senior Health Insurance Information Program) volunteer for Hancock County.

Mike Kramer - Mike is the owner and operator of Kramer Hardware in Garner.  He joined Rotary in 2008.
Randy Lansing - Randy is the City Administrator for Garner. Randy served as City Administrator of Cascade, IA for 13 years prior to coming to Garner. He is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa.

Paul Larson - Paul and Evon Larson came to Garner from Fargo, ND in August, 1977 to organize and set up a Credit department at IMT.  After 30 years with the company, he retired in 2007.  His family includes two grown children and five grandkids.  He has been a member of Garner Rotary Club since 1979 having served as President & Treasurer and is a Paul Harris Fellow.  He spends his time with family, running/walking, working out, reading and travel from time to time.  
Brian Lund - Brian is the Pastor of the Zion Evangelical & Reform Church.  He joined Rotary in 2010.
Chad Lunning - Chad grew up outside Forest City and has a degree in Business Administration.  He is passionate about hunting an fishing.  He is a personal banker at Reliance State Bank.  He and his wife Ashley have two children.  Chad joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2017.
Dr. Amy Mauer - Dr. Mauer is a practicing dentist at  Drs. Tesene Mauer & Mauer DDS PC.  She joined Rotary in 2007.
Dr. Matt Mauer - Dr. Mauer is a practicing dentist at  Drs. Tesene Mauer & Mauer DDS PC.  He joined Rotary in 2007.
Doug McWilliams - Doug was born in southern Iowa near Deep River.  Attended college in Des Moines at the American Institute of Business.  He ived in Hampton for 30 years where where was active in the community and served on City Council.  Married to Jolene in 2010 and now live in rural Latimer.  He is an Insurance Agent for PMC Advantage Insurance in Garner.  We are a full line independent insurance agency for personal and business needs. Doug joined Rotary in 2017.
Ken Mick - Ken Mick has served as Garner's Mayor since 2006.  Ken is semi-retired and works as an freelance appraiser.  His duties as Mayor involve in part acting as the Chief Executive Officer, conducting Council meetings and making appointments to the City's Boards and Commissions.  He joined Rotary in 2005.
Breanne Mumm-Reed - Dr. Bre is a dental associate at Tesene, Maurer & Maurer Dental.  She received her undergrad at UNI in Cedar Falls and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.  Bre enjoys spending time with her husband, boating on the lake, exercising, & playing with her dog Rugger.  She joined Rotary in 2017.
Jo Neal - Jo is retired from the Federal Aviation Administration, having served in management in the air traffic control section and in accident investigation.  Jo served on the Marble Rock City Council for 10 years.  She started the Marble Rock Area Betterment Council.    Governor Ray appointed her to Iowa Rural Community Development Committee, where she served as chairman helping small rural communities across the state.  Jo joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2014.

Blake Norman - Blake grew up in Iowa and has a degree of the University of Northern Iowa and a law dgree from Drake.  Blake has served various counties as a prosecuting attorney.  In November 2017 he was appointed as the County Attorney for Hancock County.  Blake joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2018.  

Bill Paulus - Bill is employed as an agricultural/commercial lender for Reliance State Bank in Garner. Bill is a past president & currently a Paul Harris Fellow. Bill has been a member of Rotary since 2003.
Carol Peterson - Carol is the NIACC Community Education Program Manager based in Garner at the Education Center. Carol retired from ISU Extension in 2012 after 38 years. Carol and her husband Rich, a retired farmer, live in Garner. They enjoy time traveling to see their 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
Pamela Roberts - Pamela is the Controller at Stellar Industries, Inc., a truck equipment manufacturer headquartered in Garner.   She lives on her family farm northwest of Garner with her husband, Adam, and daughter.  Pamela currently serves the community as a member of the Garner-Hayfield School Board, a YIELD (Youth Investing Energy in Leadership Development) mentor and through various Rotary projects.  Pamela has been a member of Rotary since 2001.

Carrie Rodriguez - Carrie is an Associate Attorney at Philip L. Garland Law Firm in Garner.  She is a graducate of the University of Iowa Law School and has degrees in Early Childhood Education and Business Administration.  She previously worked as a Director of a large child care center in Iowa City.  Carrie has been a member of the Garner Club since 2015.
Deb Schmidt -  Deb has been in business with husband Roger since 1968, including Schmidt Livestock, Schmidt Trucking and Garner Inn and Suites. Deb has been serving Garner as a member of the City Council since 2004.  Deb & Roger have three grown children with eight grandchildren. Deb has been a member of Rotary since 2008.
Tim Schmidt - Tim started at Pritchard Auto Company in 1991 and current serves as the General Manager of Pritchard's of Garner.  Tim also serves as a member of the City Council in Garner
Natalie Swartout - Natalie was born and raised in Garner.  She started working at Edward Jones Investments of Garner in 2009 as the Branch Administrator.  She was hired as a Financial Adviser with Edward Jones in 2015. Natalie and her spouse Joel have two children - Hannah and Brennan.  The kids keep them busy with sports events and school activities.  Natalie joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2016.
Matt Schoneman - Matt is a Garner native and has been selling Real Estate for Schoneman Realtors for 13 years. Matt currently sits on the Hancock County Compensation Board and is the Vice President of the Hancock County Conservation Board. Matt enjoys bow hunting and spending time with his wife and 4 kids.  He joined Rotary in 2007.
Dr. Bruce Schupanitz - Bruce has owned and operated The Garner Veterinary Clinic since May 1998.  He is a 1993 graduate of Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine.  Garner Veterinary Clinic is a fully equipped mixed animal practice, we work with livestock, horses and small animals.   Bruce lives in Garner with his wife Debbie and they have three adult children.  He joined Rotary in 1998.

Lynn Smith - Lynn's term on the Garner City Council began in January 2012. He is the owner of Smith Hardware, downtown Garner.  Lynn is a past president and currently serves as club secretary. He joined Rotary in 1991.
Krista Sweers - Krista received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa and a Master of Science in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner from Allen College. Krista is practicing family nurse practitioner at the Garner Medical Clinic and have been in this role since August 2017. Prior to this, I was a registered nurse and nurse practitioner for cardiology in Mason City. I reside in Garner with my husband Andrew and two children, Jayden who is 7 yrs old and Keira who is 4 yrs old.

Dr. Roy Tesene - Roy went to The University of Iowa and graduated from the College of Dentistry in 1979. After graduation, Roy set up a dental practice in Garner which is today Tesene, Maurer and Maurer Dental. Roy's wife Connie co-owns Country Threads Quilt Shop.  In his spare time he enjoys running, biking, and working out. Roy and Connie have three sons.  He joined the Garner Rotary in 1977.

Kody Trampel - Kody is an agronomy specialist at MaxYield Cooperative and  sixth generation farmer raising corn and pigs.  He is a Klemme City Council member and active in Farm Bureau, Ag in the Classroom and swine showing.  Kody joined the Garner Rotary in 2015.

Tim Tusha - Tim has been a career agent for Farm Bureau Financial Services for the past 29 years.  He and his wife Ellen have three daughters.  They enjoy traveling and many family activities.  Outside of the office Tim also enjoys hunting, golfing, and large scale gardening.  Tim has been a member of Rotary since 1986, serving as a director and moving through all the Chairs including serving as President.  Besides Rotary, Tim is also a member of the Garner-Hayfield School Board.

Allen Upmeyer - Al retired after a career in farming and agricultural banking. He is a graduate of ISU and served in the United States Air Force during the 1960’s. Al and his wife, Jeanette have three grown children and spouses. They have been blessed with seven wonderful grandchildren. He enjoy gardening, wood working and traveling. Al joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2014.

Traci VanGerpen - Traci grew up in Buffalo Center, Iowa.  Her husband Paul and Traci have three children.  She has been a registerd nurse since 1992 and since 2010 has worked at Iowa Specialty Hospital.  Traci joined the Garner Rotary Club in 2018.
Tim Veach, Manager at Garner Inn & Suites. Tim and his wife Dar have lived in Ventura for 18 years. They have six grown children and five grandchildren.
Bill Waddingham - Former Hancock County Engineer,  Bill joined the club in 1984.
Reid Weiland - Reid is a part of a family farm operation just outside of Garner called Weiland Farms.  Weiland Farms produces corn and soybeans and contract finishes swine.  Reid and his wife Carla have two children.  Reid has been a member of Rotary since 2012.

Dr. Scott Wood - Dr. Wood received his Bachelor degree from Buena Vista College in 1981.  He then spent 4 years as an Aviation Maintenance Office in the U.S. Navy.  He received his doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1989. He owns and operates Wood Chiropractic Clinic in Garner.  Dr. Wood and his wife Kris have three grown daughters and 2 grandchildren. He enjoys golfing, coaching soccer and directing high school theatre.  He he has been a member since 1991.

Randy Yeakel - Randy is the COO/Director of Communications 1 which serves the Garner and Kanawha areas.  Randy started with Comm 1 out of college, was promoted manager in 1991.  He was raised in Kanawha and currently resides there.  Randy has been a member of the Garner Rotary Club since 2014.

Laura Zweifel - Laura is the CEO of Hancock County Health System.  She started with them in 1989 as a staff nurse.  Laura is married to Gerald and they have two grown children Ashley and Justin.  Laura, Gerald and Justin also farm near Burt, Iowa.  Laura has been a member of the Garner Rotary Club since 2018.
