Garner Rotary Club - Our Ongoing Service Projects

Football Concession Stands 
Location: Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Football field-Garner, IA
Dates: unknown
Duties:  Food Stand Sales Counter
Number of Volunteers needed:  12 to 15
Work Period:  6:30 to 8:30 pm
Basketball Concession Stands 
Location: Garner-Hayfield-Ventura High School Student center- Garner, IA
Dates: unknown
Duties:  Food Stand Sales counter
Number of Volunteers needed:   8 to 10
Work Period:  5:15pm to 9:00pm
Purple Pinky Project: (Polio Awareness)
Location:  4th Grade Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Elementary School
Dates: National Polio Day in October
Duties: Present PowerPoint, collect money, dye students fingers purple
Number of Volunteers needed: 5-10
Angel Tree Project:
Project description: Trees are placed in named businesses with public advised to stop at one of the locations to pickup the name of an angel.  Provide Christmas gifts based on the information provided by the named individual. These gifts to be dropped back to the business location where secured.
Duties: Rotary members pick up toy boxes from area businesses
Number of Volunteers needed: 5
Duesey Days Parade Project 
Duties: In charge of organizing the float line-up, placement the day of the parade numbering and location of floats in preparation for parade.
Date: Second Saturday in July
Number of Volunteers needed: 10
The Avery Theater  (Concession Stand)
Duties: Operate the Concession stand and clean up the concession area and the auditorium following the movie.
Dates: 1st Sunday and the following Tuesday of every month.
Volunteers are named on a rotating schedule on the Rotary Club's Web site.
Number of Volunteers at each showing:  4 to 5
Report Time: 6 pm   Remain until clean up is complete. Approx 9:30pm.
Shoe Boxes
Duties: Club members purchase items that are needed for the shoeboxes.  After items are collected then the club assembles the boxes and ensures that each box has all the required items in them
Number of Volunteers: 50
